Holistic Therapy Chichester

If you're looking for holistic therapy in Chichester, you may be searching for a more personal approach to your wellbeing, somewhere you can take time for yourself, ask questions and explore complementary therapies in a calm, welcoming environment.

I'm Bibi McGee, a holistic therapist and Biomagnetism practitioner based in East Wittering, near Chichester, West Sussex. With over 20 years of experience in complementary therapies, I offer individual Biomagnetism sessions for people interested in exploring a holistic approach to their wellbeing.

My aim is to provide a comfortable space where you feel listened to, respected and informed. I believe it's important that you understand what a therapy involves, what you can realistically expect and how it may fit alongside your existing healthcare.

What Does Holistic Therapy Actually Mean?

Holistic therapy is an approach to wellbeing that considers different aspects of your life rather than focusing on one concern in isolation.

Your physical health, emotional wellbeing, daily habits and personal circumstances can all influence how you feel. A holistic approach recognises these connections and encourages a broader understanding of your wellbeing.

In my practice, I take time to listen to your experiences and understand what has brought you to an appointment.

However, holistic therapy is not a single medical treatment. Different therapies use different methods, and the scientific evidence supporting them varies.

I believe it's important to be transparent about these differences so that you can make an informed decision about the support you choose.

Why Do People Explore Holistic Therapy?

People come to complementary therapies for many different reasons. Some want to make more time for relaxation, while others are interested in learning about approaches outside conventional healthcare.

You might be considering holistic therapy because:

  • You would like time to focus on your personal wellbeing.
  • You're interested in exploring complementary therapeutic approaches.
  • You want a calm environment where you can discuss your concerns.
  • You're looking for relaxation during a demanding period of life.
  • You prefer an individual appointment rather than a group setting.
  • You want to understand how complementary therapies may fit alongside your existing healthcare.

I understand that people sometimes explore holistic therapy when experiencing stress, tiredness, sleep difficulties or other ongoing concerns.

These experiences can have many causes. If you're dealing with persistent, unexplained or worsening symptoms, I encourage you to speak with your GP or another appropriate healthcare professional.

My role is to explain the complementary therapy I offer, not to diagnose medical conditions or replace medical advice.

Biomagnetism and My Holistic Approach

The main therapy I currently offer is Biomagnetism, sometimes called Biomagnetic Pair Therapy.

Biomagnetism involves placing pairs of magnets at selected points on the body according to a particular complementary therapy method.

During an appointment, I use the principles and techniques I have learnt through my Biomagnetism training to guide the session.

Some Biomagnetism practitioners believe that placing magnets on the body can influence internal balance. However, there is currently insufficient reliable clinical evidence to establish that Biomagnetism can correct tissue pH, eliminate infections or treat specific medical conditions.

I believe you should have access to clear information about both the approach and its limitations before deciding whether to book.

I offer Biomagnetism as a complementary wellbeing practice, not as a replacement for medical diagnosis or treatment.

If you would like to understand the method in more detail, you can read my Biomagnetism Therapy information.

Your Wellbeing Is Personal

One of the things I've learnt throughout my years working in complementary therapies is that everyone has a different story.

Two people may describe similar experiences but have very different lifestyles, responsibilities, health histories and expectations.

That's why I don't believe in treating every appointment as though everyone has the same needs.

When you visit me, I take time to understand why you've come, what you would like to discuss and whether there are any important health considerations I should know about.

I also want you to feel comfortable asking questions. You should never feel pressured to continue with a session if you're uncertain about the process.

For me, a personalised approach means giving you time, attention and clear information rather than promising a particular result.

What Happens During a Holistic Therapy Session?

If you've never experienced Biomagnetism before, it's natural to wonder what happens during an appointment.

I aim to make the process straightforward and explain each stage before we begin.

Your Initial Consultation

At the beginning of your first appointment, I'll invite you to tell me a little about yourself and what has encouraged you to explore Biomagnetism.

We can discuss your general wellbeing, relevant medical history, any concerns you have and what you're hoping to gain from the experience.

I'll also explain the process and give you an opportunity to ask questions.

This conversation helps me understand your circumstances and identify any reasons why the session may not be appropriate.

My Biomagnetism Assessment

As part of my practice, I use a bioenergetic assessment based on the Biomagnetism method in which I've trained.

This assessment is part of the complementary therapy approach. It is not a medically validated diagnostic procedure and cannot determine whether you have an infection, hormonal imbalance or another medical condition.

If your symptoms suggest that you need medical assessment, I will encourage you to seek advice from an appropriate healthcare professional.

Magnet Placement and Relaxation

During the session, you'll remain fully clothed while I place magnets at selected points on your body.

The magnets are generally left in position for approximately 20–25 minutes.

You can rest quietly during this time, and I'll explain what I'm doing as we go along.

If anything feels uncomfortable or you would prefer to stop, please let me know.

After Your Session

Once the magnets have been removed, we'll have time to discuss your experience and any questions you may have.

People's experiences of complementary therapies vary, and I don't promise specific physical or medical outcomes.

I encourage you to continue following any advice or treatment recommended by your healthcare professional.

How Long Does an Appointment Take?

I generally allow around 90 minutes to two hours for an initial appointment, including our consultation.

Follow-up appointments may take approximately 60–90 minutes, depending on the session.

You can find the current appointment options, prices and booking information on my Appointments page.

Can Holistic Therapy Support Your General Wellbeing?

When people talk about holistic wellbeing, they often refer to several areas of everyday life, including relaxation, emotional wellbeing, sleep, physical comfort and personal routines.

I understand why these areas are important, particularly when life feels busy or demanding.

My Biomagnetism sessions provide a dedicated period in which you can step away from everyday responsibilities and focus on yourself.

You may find the quiet appointment environment relaxing, although individual experiences vary.

It's important to distinguish between feeling relaxed during a session and treating an underlying medical condition. There is insufficient reliable evidence to establish Biomagnetism as an effective treatment for stress-related disorders, fatigue, hormonal conditions or other illnesses.

If you're experiencing ongoing difficulties with your physical or mental health, appropriate professional assessment remains important.

Is Holistic Therapy the Same as Alternative Medicine?

The terms holistic, complementary and alternative therapy are often used interchangeably, but they don't mean exactly the same thing.

Holistic therapy describes an approach that considers different aspects of a person's wellbeing.

Complementary therapy refers to a practice used alongside conventional healthcare.

Alternative therapy generally describes a practice used instead of conventional medical treatment.

I believe this distinction matters.

I offer Biomagnetism as a complementary practice and do not recommend using it instead of evidence-based medical treatment.

If you're taking prescribed medication, receiving treatment or managing an ongoing medical condition, you should continue following the advice of your healthcare professional.

Is Biomagnetism Suitable for Everyone?

Before booking, it's important to consider whether a magnet-based therapy is appropriate for your circumstances.

Magnets may interfere with pacemakers, implanted defibrillators and some other electronic medical devices. If you have one of these devices, you should not undergo a magnet-based session unless your treating medical team and device manufacturer have confirmed that the particular exposure is safe.

If you're pregnant, have an implanted medical device or have another relevant medical concern, please discuss this with me before arranging an appointment.

I also encourage you to seek medical advice if you have symptoms that are new, persistent, unexplained or becoming worse.

Your safety and your ability to make an informed decision are more important than proceeding with a session.
